Paul Jácome Borja joins TREU Abogados as Director of Criminal Litigation, bringing solid international academic training and a deep specialisation in substantive and procedural criminal law.

He is an Attorney from the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador and holds a Master’s in Criminal Law, with a specialisation in Property, Economic and Corporate Crime, from the Autonomous University of Madrid. He also obtained the title of Specialist in Criminal Law from the University of Buenos Aires.

His training has been strengthened through specialised studies at internationally recognised institutions, including programmes at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) on the criminal procedural system and oral litigation techniques; the Inter-American Institute for Legal and Social Research and Publications, on criminal cassation under the COIP; and the Institut für Wirtschaftsstrafrecht und Unternehmensstrafrecht in Germany, where he deepened his study of the theory of the offense, economic criminal law, corporate criminal liability and corruption offenses from the perspective of modern German criminal law theory.

His practice is characterised by a highly technical approach grounded in the theory of the offense, contemporary criminal law doctrine and strategic litigation, applying advanced doctrinal criteria to the analysis and resolution of highly complex cases.

At TREU Abogados he concentrates his practice on general criminal law, economic criminal law, offenses against public administration, offenses against property, corporate criminal liability and strategic criminal litigation.
